Simple Past tense of “to be”

Below table shows the forms of “to be” i.e. असणे(“asaNe”) in Marathi in Simple Past Tense

Pronoun in English	Pronoun in Marathi	Form of असणे(“asaNe”) in Marathi in Simple Past Tense	Transliteration
I (male)	मी	होतो	hoto
I (female)	मी	होते	hote
we	आम्ही	होतो	hoto
we ( listener including)	आपण	होतो	hoto
You (singular male)	तू	होतास	hotAs
You (singular female)	तू	होतीस	hotIs
You (plural)	तुम्ही	होता	hotA
He / That (m.) / This (m.)	तो / तो / हा	होता	hotA
She / That (f.)/ This (f.)	ती / ती / ही	होती	hotI
It / That(n.) / This (n.)	ते / ते / हे	होते	hote
They (Plural of He)  /Those (m.) /These (m.)	ते / ते / हे	होते	hote
They (Plural of She) / Those (f.) / These (f.)	त्या / त्या / ह्या	होत्या	hotyA
They (Plural of it) / Those (n.) / These (n.)	ती / ती / ही	होती	hotI

Example :-

I(male) was                                  मी होतो ( mI hoto)

I(female) was                               मी होते (mI hote )

We were                                     आम्ही/आपण होतो (AmhI/ApaN hoto )

They(plural of she) were                त्या होत्या (tyA hotyA)
