In English we use sentences like “Quarter to one”, “Half past two”; instead of saying “Twelve o’ clock fourty five minutes” or “One o clock thirty minutes”. Similarly in Marathi there are sperated words to indicate fractional numbers. Refer examples below.

How much time will it take	याला किती वेळ लागेल ?	yAlA kitI veL lAgel ?
He takes lot of time to get ready.	त्याला तयार होण्यासाठी खूप वेळ लागतो	tyAlA tayAr hoNyAsAThI khUp veL lAgato
